Increasing development in the City of Buckeye created the need for additional wastewater treatment capacity while supporting future water reuse. Developing the interim reclamation facility required constructing a new treatment plant and installing the infrastructure needed to process wastewater and deliver reclaimed water for beneficial use. The project also involved coordinating biological treatment systems, pumping infrastructure and utility services required to support plant operations.

Challenge met
Filanc constructed the Trillium Water Reclamation Facility Interim Phase, delivering the treatment systems and infrastructure needed to expand wastewater capacity. The facility includes an influent pump station, screening system and a packaged Integrated Fixed-Film Activated Sludge process that provides biological treatment of wastewater.
Additional facilities include filtration, ultraviolet disinfection and a reclaimed water pump station that allows treated water to be reused. Filanc also installed electrical distribution systems, standby power generation, instrumentation and control systems, chemical storage and feed systems and extensive yard piping that connects the plant’s treatment processes. The completed facility provides reliable wastewater treatment while supporting Buckeye’s long-term infrastructure planning and water reuse goals.
