Developing the Agua Viva Water Treatment Facility required constructing a new groundwater treatment plant while preparing the surrounding water system to support continued growth in the City of Surprise. The work involved integrating treatment processes, pumping systems and storage infrastructure with an expanding distribution network. Construction also required coordinating multiple plant systems within a new facility while ensuring the infrastructure could support future increases in water demand as the community continues to grow.

Challenge met
Filanc constructed the Agua Viva Water Treatment Facility and installed the systems required to produce potable water from local groundwater sources. The project included treatment equipment, pumping systems and storage infrastructure that allow the facility to reliably deliver drinking water to EPCOR’s service area.
Electrical and instrumentation systems were also installed to monitor and control plant operations and integrate the new facility with the surrounding distribution system. With the new treatment plant in service, EPCOR now has expanded drinking water production capacity that supports long-term community growth in the City of Surprise.
